Tools get checked out just like books, although lending times vary.  Baby items can be checked out for several months.  Items like the Cricut are checked out for just a few days. Due to the size of the tools they must be picked up and returned to the Ashby Free Public Library during business hours. 

Some of the items in the tool library like the fabric, yarn, sandpaper, and wire are consumables and are simply taken and reused like the items in the upcycling room.
